Preface

Think Database Systems is an open textbook on database systems. It introduces databases through their history, their place in information systems, and the careers they support, and it is written to be read online, chapter by chapter, with an assignment accompanying each chapter.

The book is an early draft: one chapter exists today, and chapters are added as they are written. The Contents page lists the chapters, and Chapter Topics summarizes what each one covers.
